Course Description - Brain Gym in Action: Canadian International Summer Institute

Integration of Early Childhood Reflexes Course

(Bilingual - English with French Translation)
With Renate Wennekes
Friday, August 5 to Sunday, August 7

Course description: We will explore some of the main reflexes, which help the baby to survive, help him to have the first experiences with movement and prepare for the complex movements which are governed by the higher parts of the brain. We learn the reflexes in connection to the motoric development in early childhood.

We will us a special muscle testing procedure for each reflex. First we check the extent the individual experienced the reflexes as a child and if there are any challenges. Then we check whether the experiences from the reflex movements are connected to other experiences in the brain and if the reflex movement is integrated in low gear. This is important as the foundation to build competence as adults.

Developmental Kinesiology gives us the opportunity to help the body to integrate the reflexes. As support we use Edu-K, special movement similar to the reflexes and play. The information about the reflexes is a good background for Visioncircles and systems Repatterning
