Brain Gym for the Little Ones

"Brain Gym® for the Little Ones" This interactive and bilingual workshop provides a structure for implementing Brain Gym® into the day to day activities of pre-school (0 to 6) children in a daycare (preschool), kindergarten and even first grade setting. Within this context we will look at how the 26 Brain Gym exercises may be introduced, as well as their applications. We discuss the benefits of using Brain Gym as a calming tool for children (and educators!) as well as a way to support and encourage the development of fin and gross motor skill — always keeping fun, practicality and simplicity in mind. We show how even very young children can be introduced to the 3 dimensions of learning and how games are used to expand noticing, concentration, organization and communication skills. Participants receive a colorful manual with all games and activities used during the workshop. Pre-requisite: open to all Tuition:

Bonjour, je m'appelle Michèle Hébert. Je viens d'une famille où les enfants sont au coeur de nos préoccupations, au point d'en faire une carrière. La technique d'éducation en service de garde que j'exerce depuis plus de 20 ans ainsi que l'intégration des programmes éducatifs auprès d'une clientèle 0-5 ans m'ont permis de jouer le rôle de conseillère pédagogique pendant 6 ans. Je découvre alors le Brain Gym® que j'applique depuis. Mon intérêt grandissant m'amène á une formation avec Carol Ann Érickson où je prends conscience de toutes les possibilités d'application du Brain Gym® au niveau de la clientèle 0-5 ans. Depuis ce temps, je travaille á l'élaboration d'un programme en Brain Gym pour cette clientèle que j'affectionne. Hello, my name is Michèle Hébert. I come from a family whose lives were centered around children, to the point where it became a career. I have been practicing daycare educational techniques for over twenty years now, as well as integrating educational programs for the 0-5 year old clientele. This has allowed me to play an important role as pedagogical councilor for over six years now which led to my discovery of Brain Gym® , and I have been using it ever since. My growing interest led me to a course with Carol Ann Erickson where I become aware of so many possibilities for using Brain Gym® with the 0-5 year olds. Since then, I have been working on the creation of a Brain Gym program for this clientele that I love so much. |
Lisa Marcovici For over eight years now, I have been very actively involved in my
community by encouraging students, teachers as well as parents to learn about Brain Gym®.
Since 2006 my workshops have been presented to various associations: Literacy groups,
Multiple Sclerosis, Laval Aphasic Society, as well as Quebec University in Montréal. I
visit schools in the Montreal area and the outskirts of town presenting Brain Gym in the
classrooms and to the school staff. Recently the doors to early childhood education have
opened up to Brain Gym in Drummondville thanks in great part to Michèle Hébert. I am a
certified Brain Gym consultant, working in both English and French, my goal is to make
Brain Gym accessible to everyone in a fun and practical way.
